VMC X1 crankcase for Vespa Small Frame mod. ROTATING VALVE The evolution of tuning in the Vespa world is constantly evolving and also VMC has decided to make specific crankcases for Vespa small frame that can accommodate the most powerful and oversized engine kits available on the market. VMC has designed and manufactured crankcases capable of responding to these needs and created the VMC X1 Carter Vespa Smallframe VMC X1 crankcases are made of aluminium alloy, cast in sand moulds and CNC machined in Italy and their dimensions checked with high precision instruments. Compared to piaggio crankcases and semi-standard aftermarket versions, VMC crankcases feature technical improvements that place them at a higher level and make them the indispensable base for those who want a safe product made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. The VMC X1 crankcases have the following technical features: - an innovative system for fastening the removable transmission wire rods that, when combined with our transmission sheaths with external rods, speeds up engine change and the adjustment of transmission cable tension - increased wall thicknesses for greater resistance to mechanical stress - a very wide cylinder base and a lot of material underneath that allows the creation of very generous sized transfers - cylinder inlet with 64.5 mm flared to be able to fit VMC cylinders with a diameter of 60mm 144cc without having to carry out subsequent machining - rotary valve in crank chamber lengthened with respect to the standard on both sides to be able to increase the intake phases without modifying the crankshaft balance - crank chamber boring on both sides of crank with a diameter of 89.50mm and central connecting rod passage of 92.00mm which allows crankshafts with full shoulders of diameter 89 to be fitted by eliminating the rotary valve seat - crankcase closure with 13 M6 Allen screws instead of the classic stud bolts and crankcase half centring with 2 ground pins - in the gear selector area some material has been removed to allow the mounting of gear selectors with increased mesh - flywheel side bearing seat diameter 47 as on the piaggio 50 special and 125 primavera et3 versions - On the engine arm it has a chamfer that allows the mounting of wide tyres such as the 3.50 x 10 - In the Vmc crankcases all the standard components that fit on the piaggio engine crankcases are fitted - In the Vmc crankcases the ignition stator plate must be filed down in the transfer area before fitting as the crankcase is oversized
